30th - Tablescape - Neutral - Homer Laughlin/White!

Finally got my table-scaped!  It has been over a week!  When I started to scape my table I thought I would take step by step pictures to show the process; so there are a few more pics than I usually post. Choosing a very neutral table with "lime-green" accents.  Using a vintage square-lace table cover as the runner - I went from there pulling colors.
A blank canvas to start with

Beige lace table cover set at an angle and beige placemats - $.25 each from Thrift Store.

For the napkins I used the small beige ones that match the placemats placing the multi-colored striped ones underneath prior to gathering them in the napkin ring
These flowered napkin rings matched perfect the strips in the base napkin
You can see what I saw...the red chair covers are not going to go with this tablescape...

White/Beige chargers
Pulling colors from those base napkins - added the lime green polka dot flower vases and the golden colored candlesticks in the hurricane lamps....
Needed some height so I added the tall candle holders to each corner w/a yellow candle; placed a simple silver candle holder in the center with a cluster of flowers in a silver holder - keeping it low profile in the center so that the people sitting across from each other can carry on a conversation without obstacles.
Yankee Candle had these monogram candle hangings - couldn't resist - placed one on each of the hurricane lamps...

Now the dishes; these are Homer Laughlin ironstone; I love the lines and the high gloss glaze.  I have been slowly putting this set together and have yet to find the cups - the cups in this setting are actually Pflatzgraff that have the same lines.

Add the silverware.....
and we are done....a finished tablescape just need to light the candles and serve the food....

The welcome sign was purchased several months ago at Hospice Thrift Store - $1; it has become a permanent fixture on this corner of the table - it is the first thing you see when you walk in the front door.

and now it is evening and the candles are a blaze!

15th- Barscape: Black & White/Square & Round.....

Sorry to have missed last week, but it was great having my husband home all week.  He was working from home this week and so it we got to do some "normal" couple activities.  Actual got to Church Wednesday, dinner with my Mom on Thursday & Friday we went out to dinner and to the movies.  It has been just like a vacation!  Needless to say - not having cooked dinner those evenings, I didn't do a tablescape or a barscape this week.  Tonight we are having 30+ for dinner and there is no way to prepare a tablescape for that many - so I did a barscape for dinner last night.  Here it is for your viewing pleasure.

Keeping it very simple, black wood, beaded placemats, black square chargers; square white dinner plates by "Block, Langethal".

Then round desert plates by Homer Laughlin; topped with octagonal bowls by Homer Laughlin.
Topping the dishes is two napkins - a black floral with white lace wrapped up with a black wood napkin ring.
Crystal hurricane lamp candlesticks with tea lights at each placesetting...the centerpiece is a white rose from my neice Tiffany's bridal shower (my sister Dawn's daughter) and a purple gerber daisy from my neighbors yard.
The silverware is one of my favorites:  Wm Rogers, 1941 Gardenia.
For dinner tonight:  Grilled Teriyaki Shrimp (used a grill pan due to rain); yellow Saffron rice; steamed broccoli, whole graim bread....

Dinner was very good -
