Thrift Purchases - September

Great day for a ride, stopping along the way at thrift stores!  Keep in mind I was riding my motorcycle!
Had some terrific finds that even though I was on the motorcycle could not pass up the buys....This is what my motorcycle looked like when I pulled into the driveway....

I got this ceramic birdhouse/church for my wedding scape along with the satin blue and white napkins (blue is one of my nieces wedding colors)
got this veil as well for my wedding tablescape

This set of WmRogers Silverware - don't know the pattern yet (if anyone can help me that would be great).  This was a great buy - 66 pcs in the wooden "tarnish" free box was marked $30.06; I had a 20% off one item - final cost $24.05!

Close up of the pattern...
Also found these napkin rings - 4 - sea creatures and 2 centepiedes - they were $.10 each.  The centipiedes still have the original price tags on them - $3.50...
Found this Pampered Chef Pizza Stone with stand for $3.00....

What great deals - and a nice ride!
This cute set from Hospice - $4...
This old set of luggage - it is tapestry with leather accents/accessories and they fit inside of each other...
They will be displayed on my plant shelf - will post pics once I have them relocated...

101st Post - Laundry Room Plaques

Happy Monday!  During the week I worked on these plaques.  Wanting something to decorate the empty wall across from my washer/dryer in my laundry room.

So I started with some wood plaques I purchased from Lowe's; painted the little ones black first; then I painted all 4 of the white, sanding before and after painting to antique them a bit.  While  waited for them to dry I surfed for pics that were rather vintage looking, changed the contrast to black & white.
Typed the cute litte logo and hit "print".
This is of an ironing board and iron in front of an open window with the curtains blowing in the breeze.

This one is of an old wash bucket and bench.
This is of a clothesline with laundry drying, set on a hill.
I put a little twist on the popular saying, Live, Laugh, Love to Live, Laugh, Laundry....if I am doing there laundry - it must be love!
Love how these little plaques fill the space of the wall....

As always - thanks to Susan at BNOTP for sponsoring Metamophorsis Monday.  Thanks for visiting please leave some encouraging words!

100th Blog Post - 34th - Tablescape - Nesting Birds....

My 100th blog post!  Yeah!  Althougth I was originally saving my 100th post for the wedding tablescape I am doing for my niece, I coudn't wait two weeks to do a new tablescape or to post to my blog.  So as not to take away from my wedding tablescape - tribute to my niece's wedding here is a tablescape that she would love!

As we are less than 4 weeks from a very big event in our family, my niece, Tiffany's (my sister, Dawn's oldest daughter) wedding; I am inspired by her upcoming marriage and her love of the "birds" accent pieces.  She originally wanted a "bird" theme wedding but given her choice of location it just didn't fit.  Well not the case for my dinning room.

This little bird was from Tiffany's shower, they were the decorations on the tables!

I used white placemats and bronze chargers, then placed these beautiful white plates, which are two different sets.  The larger plates are not stamped but the smaller ones are Totally Today.  Then I place these cute little wire dragonflys in the center.

These napkin rings appear to be hand made out of a hair clip - a lot of work gluing all those beads to the clip.....I purchased the four napkin rings and 8 dragonflys (4 dragonflys I gave to my sister, Dawn) for $2 at the PAW's Thrift Store.

This bird/cage tea light holder is from Yankee Candle as well as the one in the picture below.  They were on sale both for $7.

The centerpiec is a wrought iron candleabra that I picked up at Salvation Army for $5; I placed some flowers around it to give it some color.  It holds 5 tealights or votives and 5 tapers.  I chose purple as the accent colors because it is one of the colors my niece has chosen for her wedding.

Even decorated the buffet with the bird theme....

I think my real bird, Sweetie, thinks he has some new family members.....

Couldn't not share a close up of Sweety.....

and now light up for the evening....

I love how the plates glossy finish shines with the candle light...

As always - thanks to Susan at BNOTP for sponsoring Tablescape Thursdays. Remember: "Around the world - - life is best around the table". Thanks for visiting; please leave some encouraging words!
Don't forget to stop back by in a couple weeks for my special weddng tablescape!
